There's an absolute classic in today's Western Mail. A perfect example of how certain politicians still can't understand people's justified anger at the expenses scandal and their response to it.
A 'senior figure' in the Assembly has stated that the new rules on expenses give the impression that AM's are dodgy and will put people off standing for office.
Who is this senior figure I here you ask? Apparently he didn't want to be identified so we'll never know.
How 'dodgy' is that?
His basic point is that safeguarding public money from abuse is somehow detrimental to recruiting future politicians. Frankly if you're put off by the language of a report and the rules it proposes you might be a tad too precious to be a politician.
