The recession in the UK will end this month. There are many other positive signs in housing and the stock exchange. The Icelanders are quibbling on how much they will repay us, but £billions are coming our way. Competing bids are in for Northern Rock. Mortgage approvals increased and manufacturing industry is looking up. The public may well be prepared to give Labour their trust again.Paul Flynn MP (La-la Land West)
Newport really does deserve better. Someone with a grip on reality would be a start.

How many more blinkered politicians will fail to see how out of touch they are?
The Icelandic people apparently don't want to reimburse our government £2.8 billion for their failed banks, so what's Don Quixote Flynn going to do now...declare war on them?
I suppose Labour could support a regime change of Iceland like they did with Iraq.
